Poetry

As I write this the world is in the midst of a global viral pandemic the likes of which the generations living now have not seen before. An urgent reminder of our humanity, mortality and dependency - on the earth, beings of the earth and on each other.

The nature that we live in and the earth that supports us - from them, what lessons can we learn?

In a dense forest, a sapling can only flourish when an old tree falls. We are seeing systems falling, failing around us. Let us imagine what we want to grow.

A poem I wrote on February 7, 2020

Untitled:

The shapes of shadows
leave a mark of beauty on the wall And you and I
leave a mark of beauty on this world Beauty is a life lived
And life, like a shadow

gracefully touches the world Until the time
when day descends to darkness
